Canada welcomed a large number of Syrians involved in the war of the summer of 2016.
We wanted to help them and we decided to set up a large garage sale for them.
The Parya Foundation agreed to provide us with the large parking along with the tables and umbrella. In this huge sale, a large number of Iranians residing in Canada participated and helped sell their equipment to help buy the necessary supplies needed for the refugees to start their lives here. The campaign was also sponsored by all Iranian media outlets in Toronto.
The Boxing Day Festival was organized with the dual purpose of supporting single mothers in launching their own businesses and providing essential education to newcomers in Canada.
As part of the festival, six free public workshops were held, specifically designed to address the needs of immigrants adapting to life in a new country. Topics covered in these sessions included:
How newcomers can access loans and what they need to know beforehand
Addressing mental health challenges faced when adjusting to a new society
The Mehrgan Festival was held with the purpose of supporting Avand School in Sistan. Thanks to generous sponsors, the necessary funds were secured prior to the event. On the second day of the festival, a heartfelt video was presented showcasing the school, its students, and the distribution of school supplies to children in nearby communities—an initiative we had proudly completed earlier.
This group is always committed to supporting newcomers in need—because we've all been there, and we know that the journey of immigration is far from easy.
In this spirit, we launched a campaign to assist a woman who had just arrived in Canada, helping her take her first steps toward building a stable and hopeful future.
Lili Nabavi, Donated a laptop to the Iranian filmmaker, who was newcomer and needed it so much.
We have experienced this type of donation a lot in our group.
I choose this case only to spread her generosity and remember her kind memory.
In this month, on the occasion of the opening of schools, we bought bags, clothes, and stationery for children who are in shelters with their mothers.
Amir Ali is a 6-year-old boy who told his teacher at school that he wished they had a Christmas tree at home. Amir Ali has physical problems and his mother takes care of him alone. A number of friends helped us to make her happy before the New Year.
In addition to the tree that Mr. Hatem Tehrani bought for him, gifts were also brought to him that made Amir Ali very excited.
PS: 4 years later, Amir Ali wanted to have a bicycle that a member of the fund, Forough Shams, bought for him.
