Every year, as Nowruz approaches, we remember the working children—those who labor tirelessly across our country. Some are forced to drop out of school, while others juggle their studies with difficult jobs at intersections and on the streets. The work they do is far too heavy for their young age and a clear violation of their childhood rights.
To bring a little joy into their lives, we make it a tradition to shop for them during this season. They especially love the sweets and nuts that are customary during Nowruz in Iran. In recent years, we’ve also identified where some of them live, allowing us to deliver food packages to their families.
This year, our efforts coincided with devastating floods in the Sistan region, which required our attention and support as well. Despite the added challenge, we were able to raise $2,288 and bring smiles to the faces of several children and their families.
The impact of this effort is best seen in the photos—moments filled with warmth, gratitude, and hope.
